Off to Vilnius on Friday. Staying in the old town for 4 nights. I have a few things in mind to do. Any must sees/dos? Any hints or tips for a good trip gratefully received

Museum of occupation and freedom is really interesting.
republic of uzupis
old town is beautiful
i also did a day trip trakai castle.
its a very walkable city, good value and I loved the cathedral. I visited on my own and it also felt very safe.
Had a great time when I visited in 2018.

Ooh replying just to get ideas as we are going in November

I went in 2019 so a fair while ago now, but a few things I enjoyed were:

  • visiting Trakai Castle (tip: get an Uber. The busses drop you at a bus station and then a little child’s train comes along and picks you up. It’s bizarre and irregular!)
  • wandering around Uzupis
  • Radisson Blue sky bar
  • a speak easy style cocktail bar called Apoteka

When I was there, there were a lot of people whizzing around on electric scooters that you could just use and app to pay for and hop on. Not sure if that’ll still be the case!

We also did the open top tourist bus thing on the first day and it was good to pick up areas that we wanted to explore further.
