Canada - do i need cash?

Hi all, we are heading to Canada next week, the West coast, and currently have 250$. For tips on excursions, if a minimum card payment is required somewhere etc.

Do we need more, or will we be okay paying mostly on card?

Just come back from there and we used cards for everything. I took some cash for same reasons as you, but ended up using it up on bits and bobs just to use it up tbh.

I always feel better with a bit of cash on me, though. Can't hurt.

Tipping was all done on the card readers, they give you the options of various percentages. I didn't do any cash tips.

We’ve just come back too (East coast) and I don’t think we used any cash at all!

Great, thanks guys! Was about to get a load more cash out, but shall use cards instead! 😁

I’m here right now and brought around $500 with me and don’t need it at all! I wouldn’t bring more than $100 so you have some just in case.
also set up a Wise account before you travel and you can move money around in your account between pounds and dollars and then dont pay as much in transaction fees.
