My parents have their 40th wedding anniversary coming up and have expressed a desire to go abroad. Neither is a seasoned traveller abroad so we would need to make the itinerary as easy as possible for them. They would be travelling in late October. Dad has had cancer previously and whilst well now does tire easily but need to balance that with finding a holiday/hotel for mum to have stuff to do. Where would you recommend?

My initial thoughts were Turkey but not sure if specific hotels come recommended? Ideally would like it to be warm (to them that is 25 degrees and over) but mum is menopausal so would struggle with very high temps. Unfortunately I can't travel with them as have already been abroad this year and isn't feasible cost wise.

Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

Firstly, can your dad obtain and afford travel insurance? I’d look at the Canaries. Look at Tui adults only, all inclusive. They have activities and entertainment and also day trips. See, for example, Hotel Hovima on Tenerife. There are activities and entertainment and a nice walk on the prom. We very much like Tui Blue Suite Princess on Gran Canaria but it might be a bit too quiet. There is a daily shuttle into Mogan and evening entertainment every night. The hotel is completely accessible and , as the title implies, you get a suite not a room.
