We are well-travelled, our toddler has been to three continents, but it's all been for work and to visit family. We have been to most countries in Europe but obviously not all the islands so it would likely be a repeat trip. We are wanting to go somewhere somewhat relaxing for 1-2 weeks in September. Not toooo hot. We like the look of Ikos resorts but they do look a bit expensive for what they are.
We are not likely to enjoy relaxing time at the beach (previously, on such holidays, we'd read on a hammock and have a few more adventurous days). But we'd like to relax in other ways: have good weather, push the pram somewhere else, not have to cook or wash up). We're vegan so having good vegan options nearby or a nice resort (like Ikos) which caters to us would be helpful. We'd be as happy in a small boutique hotel or well-located apartment.
Preferably not a really long flight from the UK but if there is a longer flight than 5 hours we'd want to break it up somewhere.
We considered Mallorca, Crete, Croatia, Sicily, Sardinia – haven't given much thought to where exactly.
We'd prefer small pretty (maybe forested) coves instead of great expanses of beach/high rises. A bit of a town to walk around would be nice. Open to moving around. Can anyone recommend a holiday for a very burnt out young family?
