October sun. Please help I’m overwhelmed!!

I think I’ve honestly spent a week looking into different places, deciding, then reading more and changing my mind again!

Flying out between 29th September-2nd October, 7 or 10 days depending on price. Looking to spend no more than £2300 for two adults.

NEED

• HOT. Not warm, hot and sunny.
• A nice big beach
• Warm pools!! This is a big issue, I always have to holiday in October and I’ve been scorned by freezing cold pools most years.
• All inclusive but good food, and a few a la cartes
• Close to a walkable town, or atleast activities close by

I looked at Morocco, scared it won’t be warm enough and pools will be cold

Egypt I did last year and got pestered and eaten alive by mosquitoes

Punta Cana is beyond tempting found some really good deals, I went in October a long time ago and it was gorgeous with one or two showers but I’m scared to go off that and have it rain constantly this time!

Canaries I’ve done Lanzarote too many times, I didn’t like Fuerteventura. Haven’t been to Tenerife or Gran Canaria but Lanzarote pools were always cold in Oct

I feel like there just are no good options and I’ve got to the point I’ve shut down 😂

A desperate bump 😂😂

OMG, I could have written this post myself! I'm in the exact same boat.

Sorry I probably won’t be much help either, but at least this will give your post a little bump!

I’ve been looking at Fuerteventura; it seems to be one of the hottest destinations, as well as Tenerife. A friend told me that Costa Adeje is a nice place, a short walk along the front to lots of bars on the seafront, but like you, I’m really struggling to decide.

Are you looking at package deals or booking everything separately? That’s another thing I can’t make my mind up about!

Queenofheart · 07/08/2025 12:19

Just seen another post from someone about holidays in October saying ...

Costa Adeje in Tenerife will be lovely in October, we stayed at the GF Isabel which was lovely, also did mount Tieude at night, whale watching boat trip, Siam park and Loro park, Playa Olid and Fanabe are nice hotels there too. Loads of nice places to eat there too

So I'm going to revisit Tenerife :)

Branleuse · 07/08/2025 12:21

Marrakech will be hot at that time of year. Inland morocco rather than coastal. Cape Verde?

Notsurewheretostarthere · 07/08/2025 12:22

We are going for Cyprus I think. Minthis resort. Not AI though.
Apparently will be 25 degrees ish.

Branleuse · 07/08/2025 12:23

I don't know what hotel booking website you use, but I use booking and If I have travelled out of season, I've specified heated pool.

ihavespoken · 07/08/2025 12:24

Puerto Mogan in Gran Canaria is nice and will be warm then.. I've had bad experiences in fuerteventura but might just have chosen the wrong destination (Caleta de Fuste)

CheerfulBunny · 07/08/2025 12:25

Placemarking. We've started to go away late and would welcome some ideas. Previous recommends, around the times you've listed, are Sardinia which was brilliant but a bit rainy at times and mainland Spain (Chiclana de la Frontera) which was lovely and boiling hot - but I'm not sure if that was a random one-off.
We've looked at Morocco and Turkey but I'm just not sure... I like the look of Halkidiki.

confusedlots · 07/08/2025 12:25

This is ChatGPT’s verdict!

Recommendation: For guaranteed hot weather, large beaches, warm pools, and true all-inclusive experiences within budget—Cyprus (especially Ayia Napa or Protaras) and Turkey’s Turquoise Coast (like Bodrum or Antalya area) are your best bets. If you want to mix in culture and picturesque landscapes, Malta and the Algarve are excellent too.

Scottishskifun · 07/08/2025 12:25

Cyprus is hot if going end of Sept early Oct.
The Atlantica and Olympus chains are very good for food and Al a Carte options. Dome are also adult only.

turkeyboots · 07/08/2025 12:29

What is hot for you? Turkish coast round Dalaman is on average 26°C, which isn't hot hot. It was lovely but I needed a cardigan at night. You might need Oman or Dubai for higher temperatures.

TippledPink · 07/08/2025 12:33

Costa Adeje is great and I go every year, going this year almost the same dates you are looking for- it is always hot at that time of year BUT- it can be cloudy for an hour or two a day which doesn't suit everyone. It is still hot but the cloud sticks to mount Tiede sometimes. There is so much to do though, loads of restaurants and bars, live entertainment, Sian mall etc. We also go hiking on the North. It's my favourite place.

I would consider Cyprus for that time of year as it will be nice and hot.

Forgottenmyphone · 07/08/2025 12:37

Mexico or Cape Verde

daysfilledwithdappledlight · 07/08/2025 12:37

Often go to Greece in October, it’s still delightfully warm and amazing selection of hotels.

Pools are completely unique to the hotel rather than the country so just worth checking directly, some definitely are warm.

Mauritius is a safe bet. Package holiday deals (eg through ba) make it often as cheap as a nice hotel in Europe nowadays.

lalafox · 07/08/2025 12:44

Tenerife definitely! Always nice and hot in October and plenty of places have heated pools. Los Cristianos is lovely and has lots to do.
you really don’t need to be all inclusive in Tenerife as there are so many lovely places to eat. There are some lovely all inclusive adults only hotels in costa Adeje if you are set on all inclusive but honestly I wouldn’t go all inclusive

loveawineloveacrisp · 07/08/2025 12:48

That's not a very big budget for AI if one of your requirements is decent food. You need at least 4 star (read reviews carefully).

KidsHaveAllTheFun · 07/08/2025 12:50

You are not guaranteed HOT in Europe at that time .

TommyKnocker · 07/08/2025 12:52

Crete, we went later in Oct and it was still warm so late Sept/early Oct I would expect to be hot. We've stayed at Lytoss Beach and Stella Palace, although we went with kids so they may not be what you're looking for, for 2 adults. Apparently Stella Island is nice and adults only.

TheFairyCaravan · 07/08/2025 12:55

I’ve been to La Palma and Gran Canaria at that time of year and both were boiling. The pools were cold but tbh it was welcome.

When we went to Cape Verde the pools weren’t heated either.

We came back from Kos at the end of September last year and it was still hot, but again the pools weren’t heated.

Littleswallows · 07/08/2025 12:58

Mexico if you want hot weather and good AI. Might be the odd shower but will be proper hot. Quality of hotels is fab.

Queenofheart · 07/08/2025 13:04

We're looking at Coral Ocean Hotel in Costa Adeje, however, I'm confused because it says the address is Playa de las Americas, Adeje, is this correct, are they the same place do you know?

Antalya in Turkey is lovely. I have been to Turkey in October, day time is hot, but can get a bit chilli at night but its warmer than the UK

Costa Adeje is a long stretch along the sea front - it does include Playas De las Americas but the other end is much nicer- Fanabe, Torviscas, del Duque areas are the nicer parts of Costa Adeje. Americas is more lively and a bit more Brits abroad type vibes. Still ok though!

GreenLemonade · 07/08/2025 15:43

Mauritius is nice in October but I'm not sure if your budget would stretch that far

That is las Americas. Not the nicest area but it depends on what you’re looking for.
