Hi thinking of going to Lago in Portugal next July! Can anyone recommend a hotel that is not too pricey or far out please?

Would people stick to Lago over Vilmoura which.someone else recommended? My 11 year old is keen to visit the zoo in Lagos and doesn't mind a few bars/restaurants as long as it not is not too busy/rowdy...

We’re looking at Lagos next month. I’ve been told to stay near a beach rather than in the Old Town. We’re still looking for accommodation

Alvor is nice too and not too far from Lagos. I think it’s mainly Albufiera (sp?) you want to avoid if you don’t want busy/rowdy.
