Just wondering if anyone has been to Seez or nearby in the summer? I'm more familiar with more northern areas around Morzine so interested in activities near there/ recommendations etc? Many thanks

Sorry I’m more of a southern alps person, however there’s usually loads to do all over the alps. Can you find a local facebook page? Or check out the Office de Tourisme?

I used to live in Séez, there's not really anything there, but it does boast 2 taxidermists. It's very close to Bourg St Maurice which has a train station and some supermarkets, bars etc. If you've got access to a car it's ideal for getting to La Rosiere, Tignes, Val d'Isere. You can get the funicular up to Les Arcs if it's running from Bourg. It's a nice drive through the Petit St Bernard pass over to La Thuile in Italy which has some nice walks including up to the waterfall. There's white water rafting in the Savoie valley.

Tignes is good to visit in the summer and so is La Plagne. Séez is not really somewhere I'd be dashing to on it's own though.

Why seez in particular. I’d go more st gervais then you’re close ish to passy lake, chamonix, les contamines , combloux, Megeve, and even a trip across to Italy

Thanks for those recommendations. Not desperate to go to Seez, but we've found some reasonable accommodation there . I was hoping to go to Samoens/ morzine area, but last minute trip (end Aug!), and chalets/ apartments there seem much more expensive.

We plan to have a car, but hoping not to drive 30-60 mins daily to get to interesting things...

Trip to Italy sounds good, and the funicular looks great too. Any more recommends would be great! Or good sites to look on for last minute rentals aside from usual air bnb, vrbo...

I lived in Bourg St Maurice for a long time and I completely agree with @FortunaMajor - there isn’t a lot of tourist stuff in Seez and you’ll need to drive to get anywhere.

Theres quite a bit within a 30 minute drive though. There’s a big park in Bourg with a nice walk through, a lake with lake beach and summer activities between Bourg and Aime, a swimming pool in Bourg. Plus a big market on Wednesday afternoons in Bourg with entertainment. And lots of activities.

Hi I own a chalet about 5 minutes from Seez just on the road to Tignes and Val D'isere. I'd say it's absolutely fantastic to visit this area in Summer! It's stunning and there is loads to do. Bourg Saint Maurice is a very sweet town with a great market, Les Arcs via the funicular, lots of great walks, kayaking, rafting (https://evolution2.com/en/rafting
swimming, the lake in Tignes. Val D'isere is very close with loads of activities, mountain restaurants, 55 minute drive and you're lunching in Italy.. can't recommend it enough! The main reason is it's a massive area so you have lots of choice! My chalet has a pool so drop me a note if you're interested in renting it!
