EasyJet/love holidays refund?!

I'm in need of some advice concerning a refund or moving a holiday.

Myself, my husband and our little girl were all planned to go to Greece this October with my family, booked and paid in full on love holidays back in December 2024. My sister sadly was diagnosed with leukaemia in March and we are no longer going, my mum and sister and other family have all obviously cancelled but as we booked separately and I stupidly didn't buy my travel insurance, when I spoke to love holidays of the family matter they advised that I weren't valid for a refund... They had advised I can move the holiday instead, but here's the matter I'm worried about. The holiday was £1.030, when looking at the breakdown, the flights are 890, leaving only 140 left for the hotel. As the flights take up the proportion of the cost, do airlines allow you to move flights at all? I thought they are non refundable unless extreme circumstances??

Anyone that has moved holidays on love holiday and to different destinations please your advise is greatly appreciated as I'm a-bit lost with this all and m their customer service have been very unhelpful to say the least. Thank you!

sadly you won’t be eligible for a refund. From their point of view the leukaemia might not affect the timing at all, she might pass away before the holiday or years after!

did you book the whole holiday through love holidays? If so you should be able to move the lot. Maybe go a year later depending on her prognosis

Yeah I had thought as much!

The hotel, flights and all was booked through love holidays. Such a dummy for not getting the insurance. I'll look into seeing if I can move it. Thank you.

If it was a package and they said they can move it don’t worry about the break down of costs just agree to them moving it to a better time. Such a shame for you all!

I don't think travel insurance would pay out in this scenario anyway OP, so don't beat yourself up about that.

Sorry for your situation. Be aware you may have to pay any difference in cost if you move it. I wouldn’t query the breakdown yet.

EasyJet

EasyJet let you change flights for an admin fee if you have the EasyJet reference and you have no luck with Love Holidays.

Have you tried contacting Love Holidays via different ways, instragram, messenger, online chat etc?

Sorry for your bad news Op.
I have had to move my holiday this year. Also EasyJet flights and a hotel but booked together as a TUI package.
I could have got a refund but would lose 70% of the holiday cost as it was only a month until departure.
As the flights were EasyJet not TUI own , I did have to pay to cancel but only an admin fee and the price increase in flying earlier dates. The hotel they swapped dates as part of the admin fee.

How can Love Holidays not offer a refund? EasyJet will cancel the flights and you will get taxes back as a minimum if you ask directly.

I also had this with Tui.
