Just wondering if anyone has done a princess cruise before ? Just a bit concerned might be mainly older people mainly and not much for teens. ( 12 and 17 year old).. Cruise was £1500 less than others ( RC/NCL/MSC ) for same type room. Never cruised before ! .

Ship is the sun princess for last week August ( Athens/ Santorini/ Montenegro/ corfu/ Sicily
hoping still some kids on hioliday and also port intensive so ship will just be to rest and relax. Any feedback welcome !

I’ve just come off the Sun Princess.

we’d been on Princess cruises before , and this one felt very different, perhaps because it was the Med n the school holidays. There were many kids, and a lot of music on deck.

Food was not as good as I remembered, and the conservatory (Hollywood Conservatory) was closed throughout, which made a big difference to the ship’s amenity value in my eyes - it is the only quiet place on board. But we still had a great time.

I would check about the conservatory if I were you.

there are kids clubs.

Hi
Thank you for posting. That’s interesting to hear. What is the Hollywood conservatory? Is it the dome ? I know the sanctuary can’t be booked for the day it is only for suites. It’s looks quite noisy around the pool from videos. Was there lots of queuing eg for the cafe / coffeee etc ? I think it’s USA holidays are the moment so it may have more kids now than the end of August . Did the kids enjoy it ? The reviews seem to be very mixed but as it is a Europe cruise i’m thinking apart from 2 sea days we will only be spending the evening on the ship.

its hard to justify spending so much more for RC !
sorry for all the questions ! Thank you

We went on Sun Princess last year albeit not with kids. It's a big ship, something like 4,500 passengers I think. You may need to plan your entertainment as some of the venues filled up quite early - the theatre, dome etc. It's a nice ship and you've got some nice ports. If you're calling at Bar Montenegro I wouldn't bother with that, there's nothing in Bar.

Queues for food not too bad. Pool quite crowded I recall.

Have you got the medallion thing where you can order food/drink directly to you wherever you are on the ship?

I'm sure you'll love it.

Just come off Sky Princess.

The younger DCs loved the kids club but we never persuaded DD13 to give the teens club a try to actually stay there even though the facilities looked good. Think it was because the teens there were mostly from the USA (the passengers were mostly American due to being an American cruise line) and all seemed so confident and assertive which made her feel a bit intimidated. That said, the staff member in there was lovely and welcoming and would have helped DD to integrate if she had been willing.

DDwas happy to hang around with us though, even though we refused to pay for the extortionate WiFi so she had no internet! She still enjoyed the pools, shows etc.
