Slide and Splash watermark - Algarve

We’re thinking of going to the Slide and Splash water park in the Algarve when we go on holiday later this month. The rules on the website look pretty strict - do they enforce them strictly? For example, do teenage boys have to wear tight Lycra swimming trunks like it says on the website or can they wear normal, loose swim shorts? Do I need to remove my wedding ring and stud earrings? And can we take our own food and drink in? Some of the tripadvisor reviews are pretty scathing so I want to get a better idea of what to expect. Thank you.

We went a couple of weeks ago and didn’t notice anyone checking or enforcing things like that (I wore my rings etc) and lots of people had picnics. I recommend getting there early as it gets very busy. It has lots of slides to suit all ages but on the day we went, the wind made it very cold in the queues so we didn’t stay long. Hope you have a lovely day!

I’ve been 4 or 5 times in the past couple of years. You have nothing to worry about.

We’ve been a few times and the boys have always worn normal, baggy swimming shorts. Never been checked for jewellery. We’ve always taken a picnic too without any problem.

I think it’s worth getting discounted tickets in advance and as the pp said, get there early. It’s a water park, it’s August, there will be queues! Avoid the weekend if possible. We’ve always had a great time.
