Looking for suggestions for a weekend break for 2 adults, 2 kids 6,4. We find that we have to take so much leave around Christmas that it's a waste to not do anything, especially as the kids don't go back to school until the Tuesday after new year so can fit in a weekend break.
Ideally UK based, or even somewhere we can get to on train/drive. Not keen on flying due to faff and wasted time in airports. Last two years we've been to Centre Parcs but fancy something different.
We're visiting Amsterdam and Belgium in the summer, so will have done these cities then. Have recently visited Copenhagen too.
Any suggestions? Have thought about Lapland (not flying aside) but think the kids, especially smaller one needs to be a bit more hardy to that level of cold.
