October Sun

Trying to price up an October sun holiday for half term (last minute I know). Looking at the canaries as an obvious choice for late sun, however the prices seem extortionate for just ok-ish hotels.

any other advice on where’s good at this time of year? We are going as a family with kids between 2 and 16. Also we don’t mind if it’s not HOT HOT but mid -20s would the nice. We’ve been to Greece and love it there (in my opinion the hotels and food are so much better than what you get in spain), but not sure what the weather is like late October.

It looks like Cyprus is great weather then, also Malta or Morocco.

I know you've been to Greece, but we had a glorious holiday in Corfu a couple of years ago, right at the end of Oct.
Mid 20s, sky blue, beautiful sea/swimming, loads of beautiful countryside walks/history, Corfu town was so lovely. Excellent food. Something for everyone. It was idyllic.

Greek islands can be nice but it's right at the end of the season, especially for the more northerly islands. We had a fair bit of rain in Corfu in late September.

Look at Fuerteventura, slightly cheaper than other Canary islands.

Malta has good weather then but it's not everyone's cup of tea

Southern Greece can be lovely but the weather is not guaranteed. Crete and Rhodes are good options, and we had lovely weather in Naxos a couple of years ago (though that is further north). Personally I think Corfu is a bit too far north for reliable good weather that time of year (but of course you can get lucky!)
