Naples

I’m looking for a short break to Naples. I’d like to book Pompei, Vesuvius along with the hotel and flights. Any good suggestions as to where I should book online? Or best to do
it with a rep? Thankyou.

You can go to Pompei by getting the local train - and stop off at Sorento on the same line, as well as visiting Herculaneum- you don’t need a rep to do that and will say you loads. But the lonely planet guide and it will give you all the details including hotel and flights. We did this and had a great time and didn’t spend unnecessary money on tour guides . Reps. Have a lovely time the Amalfi coast is lovely.

were helpful when we went last October. We booked a guide from Viator for Pompeii because we wanted a private tour and it was good, and the tickets were part of that price. You can book online direct too but it’s a rather tricky old website - perfectly doable but was a bit of a fiddle when I looked at it.
Vesuvius has its own website for bookings too - def book this in advance because they do limit numbers. We hadn’t booked in advance and actually weren’t able to get normal tickets so ended up on another tour which was an expensive way to do it, albeit good.
The circumvesuviana train is great between all the sites from Naples to Sorrento and is v cheap.

We stayed in a gorgeous hotel in a town called Torre Del Greco.

it was the most fantastic base for us. Had a rooftop bar and the food in the hotel was decent. We ate a lot of pizza. You just added this to the room and paid at the end of your stay.

we hired a car from the airport and got in an accident with a tour bus. Car was a right off and we were luckily fine. I don’t recommend driving there. Doesn’t seem to be any road rules there. It’s crazy.

the hotel has a driver that took us down the road to the train line where we were able to jump on to go to Naples, Sorrento, pompeii. He also dropped us off to visit herculanium and to catch a boat at the beach for capri and another day to visit possitano. It was a diamond in the rough. We visited the town and it was an old Italian town. It was our most favourite trip.
