Hi, for my mum's 50th next year please can anyone suggest any nice places:

.Preferably in Europe
.For a family of 4 (3 adults+1 child)
.Bed and breakfast board
.In summer 2026 (July-August school holiday)
. Preferably around £4K for around about 10 nights (hotel and flight incl)

I've had a look at some places but I want to make sure it's perfect as it's for a birthday too. I've looked on love holidays, jet2, I've seen some nice ones in Greece etc. Has anyone got some other recommendations and experiences of hotels in the past few years I've been to Tenerife and Kos and it was nice
Thank you

Lake Garda is beautiful. I suppose it depends what your mum enjoys doing on holiday though

Also, don’t touch Love holidays with a barge pole.

The Med in August is very very hot, so is this what you want? Canaries will still be hot but not quite so extreme.

Sounds like you're looking for a 'beach holiday' but what type?

Quiet or lively?
Authentic or 'Brits Abroad'?
Relax by the pool or lots of sightseeing/cultural/activity options close by?

How old is your DC? I'd expect with your DM being 50 your DC would be quite young, so an efficient use of space/money would be connecting rooms or a 2 bed apartment hotel and DC in with your DM. But having said that my DSis is also 50 next year and her eldest DGC is an 11 YO boy so less attractive to sharing with a toddler.

Pefkos, in Rhodes

you will struggle big time to get that in summer holidays for £4k. Sad but true

I would suggest either looking for an aparthotel or other self catering as I always feel B&B in a hotel gives the worst of both worlds ie have less space being in a hotel but have the additional cost of buying your two main meals out when you are there. An aparthotel with kitchenette and sitting area may give the best option for you . In terms of rooms, it depends on the relationship of the 3 adults & child eg is it your mum & partner plus you and DC? You & partner plus DC and your mum?
