Muskoka, Canada recommendations please!

Hi, we're looking to book some accommodation somewhere in the Muskoka region in Canada for early August 2026 for 5 or 7 days.

It's for 2 families with children ranging in age from 8-13 years.

We'd like somewhere very near a lake for paddle boarding, swimming etc, with a town nearby for the odd meal out, potter around a few shops, activities etc (we'll have hire cars).

I know things get booked up very early (and many cottages stipulate long stays only), so we'd like to book something soon.

We are here at the moment , only for a long weekend though & it’s just beautiful !

we are in an Airbnb 15mins outside Huntsville on a lake with kayaks etc available.

we had no issue finding short term places to stay.

i now want a lakeside cabin in the area for weekends!! ( given I live in Hampshire may not be the most practical!!)

So you're looking for a cottage, not, say, an all inclusive resort? How many bedrooms?

Muskoka is amazing - I've got so.many happy memories of holidays there.
