Planning a trip. What are favourite things to do there?

My extremely cold-averse DH won’t swim in the Med as he finds it too chilly but he’ll happily swim in Lake Garda.

We did a paragliding jump from the top of on the mountains over the lake and it was absolutely amazing!

Depends which end you are going to. The castle at Malcesine is fab and there’s a cable car to the top of Monte Baldo. Riva is a pretty town with lots of little shops and restaurants. Go inland to Arco to walk up to the tower on a huge limestone cliff. Also access to climbing, via ferrata and lots of outdoor activities. These are all at the North end of the lake. I don’t know the southern end but again supposed to be very scenic. There’s a good ferry service crisscrossing the lake so you can access other places easily.
As with anywhere Italian, eat the gelato!

No idea about child-friendly activities but we flew to Verona for a few days before staying in Malcesine which was lovely with plenty of bars and restaurants. Cable car up Monte Baldo to watch the parajumpers, boat trips to Limone and Riva del Garda, lake-side walks and bike-hire and a spectacular thunderstorm!

Malcesine is lovely. Cable car. Beautiful little town - restaurants/bars/cafes/shops. Boat trips.

Salo is lovely too. Not much to it, but very pretty.

Sirmione is lovely. We also enjoyed a boat trip on the lake visiting different stops. Easy day trip to Venice and Verona.

Great day trips if you hire a car - we did Verona, Milan and Venice. You can do them on the train too x x

Love it. Heaven on Earth! We recently stayed at Gardea Soul Family Resort in Torbole and can highly recommend it.
