Cottage/ Chalet with direct lake access in Switzerland/Austrian/Italy

Can anyone please recommend an area/ company for researching this? We’ve done similar in Canada and would like to find somewhere closer to home to enjoy lake swimming/ water sports etc next summer. Thanks.

Properties with direct/private access to a lake are few and far between in the countries you mention, but there are plenty of lakeside villages where you can swim in the lake, sail, paddle board etc.

Anywhere in Austria with "see" in the name is going to be on a lake - obvious examples are Zell am See, Wolfgangsee, Bodensee (Lake Constance).

Travel companies such as Inghams and Crystal have summer "Lakes and Mountains" programmes, or you can easily organise things yourself by flying to Salzburg or Innsbruck in Austria, or Friedrichshafen in Germany for Lake Constance and then using the usual booking sites (Booking.com, VRBO, Airbnb etc) or the local tourist office websites, such as this one for Wolfgangsee:
