Northern Lights mini break October

I’m looking to book a mini break 3-4 nights in October to go and (try to) see the Northern Lights. It would be for me and a pre-teen. Can anyone recommend the best place to go?

I’d like to go somewhere where I can book some evening viewing / chasing excursions plus have enough to do in the day to keep preteen engaged. Bonus if there is some sort of outdoor spa experience I could try.

Happy to book things individually or go on a tour package, but don’t want to have to drive.

Well if it’s anything like last year scotland. Every night from my garden!

Tromso in Norway. It’s far enough north and you can get direct flights from the UK. Whale watching tours typically operate from late October, and there’s a nice Arctic aquarium/science centre which my niece and nephew enjoyed.
