Anyone recently used trip.com to book flights+hotel? Coming out the cheapest but haven’t used it before. Opinions good or bad please!

My daughter used them for some flights to Vietnam and they were absolutely fine, no issues at all.😊

I booked them for hotels in LA and Doha and for train tickets, no issues at all.

Oh great thanks @DominoDaancingand @AvidJadeShakeri was spooked by the 10% bad reviews (even though most are 5*) but when I looked at reviews most were ‘my flight was cancelled’ and I thought well that’s not really the booking sites fault!

I’ve used them but be careful as luggage allowances are usually less than via other sites and there are often additional fees. I learnt the hard way after my business class flight with emirates only had a standard 25kg luggage allowance 🥴

Booked flights with them, absolutely fine

Thanks @Obeseandashamedluckily they’re only short trips I’m looking at so no big cases needed.

thanks @Apollobindsglad to read good reviews!

No, not their fault at all.

However, depending on the the flight was cancelled, the process to get a refund, compensation, an alternative flight is probably considerably more difficult than if booked direct with the airline.

I'd guess that could be the reason foe the negative reviews.

You can do what they do and their home base is in Singapore. If these people do not have an ATOL number I would be disinclined to use them. Your protections in the event things go wrong are limited.

owlyboo · 19/07/2025 09:52

Yeah that makes sense @cyclingmum67

Thanks for the advice @AttilaTheMeerkative checked and they do have an atol number. I know i can do what they do but it comes out more expensive! No idea why!
