Help me organise a hen day in London

Oh wise ones, my mate is getting married soon and wants the following for her hen 'event'

Go to London, visit Harrods cos we've never been before and can spend time trying cosmetics, then get manicure and pos. other beauty treatments then to covent garden for dinner then cocktails before going home. I have said I would find somewhere for us to get our nails done, pos.facial as well, thinking either near covent garden or south ken, any ideas?? Needs to be cheaper than the Sanctury. Also suggestions for places for cocktails would be good

Try The Nail Lounge for manicures - they do pedicures as well and give you a glass of wine while they working. It's lovely and much less clinical than a lot of nail bars, plus less pricey than a lot of spas. Walkable from there to Covent Garden if you go down Old Compton Street - maybe 15 minutes or so?

What about here?

The Langley is a fab cocktail bar in Covent Garden, about 2 minutes from the tube - they do great happy hours but it gets busy and there's never enough bar staff so plan to take your time!!

Also, the Travelodge in Covent Garden is in a really fantastic location if you want somewhere cheap to stay (I paid £49 for a twin room last month!)

i stayed at that travelodge once, it was awful, i checked in then they checked someone else into my room while i was at dinner, didn't even appologise, [shudders at thought] The Langley looks fab though ta x

That sounds like a nightmare! I'm guessing it wasn't some hunky bloke they checked in

Jewel Bar

I rang the Nail Lounge the other day Snickersnack and it's under new management, although the website hasn't changed. Have you been since the change? If not, then perhaps wonderstuff ought to check, if they still do the nail "parties".

If you're going to Harrods, why not call into Harvey Nick's as well and have cocktails on the 5th floor?

Afternoon tea is a fantastic hen party idea - though a bit much with dinner too. But you could have a late afternoon tea then cocktails/karaoke perhaps? My favourite for tea is the Sofitel in St James - the decor is slightly OTT in a pink way but very girly and the tea is amazing and the best value in London.

Hope the Nail Lounge hasn't changed too much - I love it there!!!
