Yes I‘m already thinking about next summer!

We are thinking about going to Lake Garda.

We live in central Europe so would be driving there. DC are primary school age.

Our criteria:

  • walking distance to lake with a decent beach
  • cheaper end accommodation- air conditioned bungalow on a campsite rather than 5* hotel
  • family friendly restaurants walking distance
  • Not absolutely heaving with tourists- a quieter region is preferable

We‘ve stayed at Camping al Weekend before which was nice, but the beach was too far away.

Have a look at Camping La Rocca, on the west side of the lake (there’s another with the same name on the east). It’s a smallish campsite without all the bells and whistles that some of the larger sites have, but it’s in an area which generally feels calmer and yes, it’s got good beach access.
