Just wondering if anyone can give any advice where to holiday in Croatia. All a bit last minute but it’s for August and it’s myself and my 12yo son. Lots are coming up for Istrian Riviera, is it a nice destination?

Literally just got back from our third trip to Croatia, our first more than 10 years ago. We’ve visited Dubrovnik, Hvar, Rovinj, Split, Zadar, Trogir and quite a few other places.
Favourite was Istria. Rovinj is very pretty, with nice hotels and great restaurants. You could combine it with a few days inland at Motovun, a hilltop village set in a vineyard covered plain, which specialises is truffles if you’re a foodie.
All the beaches we’ve been to have been stony rather than sandy, so not ideal if you have kids of sandcastle building age.

Best place I've ever been. I'm a real home bod and I'd move to Croatia, it's beautiful
