Thailand Itinerary

Hello - we’ve never been to Thailand before but are planning a wedding anniversary celebration holiday there in November - December. Just DH and me.

Thoughts are:
Bangkok x 2 nights
Beach x 3 nights (not sure whether Krabi or an Island)
Elephant Hills 2 nights 3 days
Beach x 5 nights Koh Jum maybe as have a good recommendation from a friend
Home

or would it be better to go straight from Bangkok to Elephant Hills then have a week of beach, and if so should we move and have 3 nights in Koh Jum and 3 nights elsewhere?
Koh Lanta was also recommended?

Any thoughts welcome as there is just so much choice!

The things that are kind of set in stone are flying from London to Bangkok. Would like Elephant Hills or similar. Would like that area of Thailand as the weather seems best there in Nov Dec rather than further north. Would like beach and relax time but with scope for trips.

Any thoughts welcome! Thank you ☺️

Can you extend the holiday? I think you need longer in Bangkok if you’ve not been before. The city is huge, I’d do 4 nights minimum. (My parents used to live there so I’ve been a lot). I liked Krabi a lot and would go back with my children. We stayed at Dusit Thani Krabi Beach Resort and did boat trips to the islands. The location and layout of the hotel was great, probably one of the best breakfasts I’ve had in the region (it was a few years ago mind you) and part of the Hangover 2 was filmed in the lobby. I don’t know Koh Jum.

Oh and the weather is relative, I wouldn’t rule parts of the country out because of the rainy season.

I think Khao Lak should be included. Lovely beaches, great restaurants and it’s quiet but still has some lovely bars etc if you want to take a wander at night. Surin and Similian islands are easily accessible day trips for snorkelling.
Khao Sok is amazing and a couple of nights in a jungle house and one in a floating raft house sounds like it would be great for you. Alternatively you could easily do it on a day trip from Khao Lak.

I think you need 2 weeks minimum. I haven't been for a long time but my parents go a lot and return to Phuket mostly having been absolutely everywhere.

Thanks all. We can go for up to 2 weeks - I’m being a bit of a wuss about leaving elderly DDog but we have just had a week away and we had a pet sitter at the house with her and she had a ball so although initially I’d said 12 nights, we could do 14 or 15 I think 😊
