Has anyone booked a Reading Retreat?

I noticed a company called Naxos Creative that a few people have mentioned on here. Apparently Mumsnetters of old and they offer discounts. They would mainly suit Mums who's kids have left home I guess as they are not in the school holidays. I am thinking of booking. Hotel is by the beach, lots of activities, as well as time to chill and do nothing. I will try and find a link.

No but sounds amazing…

Are you advertising for them?
If I wanted a "reading retreat" I would book a normal holiday and take along a few books and my Kindle.

Not advertising at all—just curious! I’ve seen a few of these reading retreats around and was wondering what others think of them. Ladies Who Lit (love the name!) always seems to be booked out, and Naxos Creative looks interesting too, especially with their visiting authors. I totally get the appeal of just taking a normal holiday with a stack of books and a Kindle—I do that myself—but these retreats seem to offer something a bit different, and I’m intrigued to know if anyone’s tried one.

I don't want any activities on a Reading Retreat apart from reading.
If it was an Olympic sport I'd get gold every time.
I'd like someone to bring tea and cocktails.
Fresh, peeled lychees , macadamia nuts, and Walkers mini pappadoms.
I'd expect some form of paddle, sign, spoon in a ham jar specific to the retreat that indicated that I'm not up for chatting and one that signals I require another cocktail or more snacks.
Facials ,massages etc are acceptable.

I’ve never been to one OP but like the sound of them! Going to look them up now. I don’t think I’d want many other activities, just access to a big library and a comfy chair. And not to be disturbed.
