Austria in summer

I’m after some opinions/recommendations. Has anyone been to Austria in summer? I’d be travelling alone and the prices don’t seem to be as extortionate as other European holidays for single travellers. The weather seems a more enjoyable temperature for me too. I enjoy walking, am happy to use buses and trains to see different places but wouldn’t be keen on using the ski lifts and cable cars.

Zell am See is a pretty town accessible by train. Lots of accommodation options, places to eat, shops to browse… We used this bus to access some good walks https://www.saalbach.com/en/service/infrastructure/postbus-hiking-bus_a_1556

Thank you. This is the area I was looking at. Really helpful.

We had a lovely week at Hotel Haymon in Seefeld which is on the train route from Innsbruck. Outdoor pools, cable car, lovely walks, free bus pass. The food at the hotel was amazing as well.
