Late arrival at hotel. Will we get food?

Mostly we self catering but recently have been going on holiday to hotels on a half board basis - where they cater well for food allergies.

This is the first time we'll be arriving late in the eve ing. Maybe 9.30pm/10pm. Does the hotel ever provide food late if that is the case?

I travel a lot with children with allergies. I would take some safe snacks and food with you anyway surely? (In case plane gets delayed etc)

But yes, ring the hotel or email them -it varies wildly

It really depends on the hotel. We usually go all inclusive and we've had everything from no food on arrival, to a packed lunch box to take to the room to a cold buffet of meats, cheese, bread, fruit etc in the restaurant.
The size and rating of the hotel is a factor and also how geared up they are for late arrivals i.e. if guests often arrive at that them expecting a meal.
10pm isn't too late to pop out and buy a pizza or order something if nothing is available at the hotel.
