centre parcs mid week break

Lots of people I know have been to centre parcs and loved it, more importantly got good deals.
Thinking of going for a few days for our anniversary on the 2nd of june for 3/4 nights with 15 month dd. Am currently 26 weeks. Was going to go out for a meal but dh wants us to do something else and include our dd, as hates leaving her overnight.
Which is great, but why when I look at centre parcs (sherwood) can I never get a god price. All I can get is 700 for few nights mid week
Not being tight, we have a holiday booked for end of june, just fancied a little break.
Any other ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated.

We live in south yorkshire BTW so couple of hours max would be ideal.

I myself, having been to Center Parcs, cant see what a family with young children see in it.There was plenty of sports activities to do,and places to eat,Canoeing etc. But for a LO's: not much IMO!

You can get a Babysitter but I'm not sure this is what you are looking for.

I would recommend Haven or Butlins,as I have a 12 yr old DS,and DD1 is 3 and DD2 is 19mths.

At Haven there is Kids Clubs, and lots of characters for them to enjoy, swimming pool and childrens shows in the early evening.

At Butlins there is kids acitivities all day,Creches for 2 hrs if you do want to have a meal etc. on your own, Soft Play Areas,Loads of characters such as Barney,Bob the Builder,Postman Pat etc. all appearing around Butlins for photos and shows during the day and early evening.

We just came back from a weeks holiday there, and for the 5 of us staying in their Silver accomadation it was £420 ! They had a deal for 50% off,but they are doing deals all the time if you go on the website. They do Midweek breaks and Long weekend breaks too.

Thanks for that. I have never been so not sure what to expect tbh.
We already booked that kind of holiday for the end of june as I didnt want to fly being so close to due date.
But I undersatnd what your saying, sounds plenty to do for children.
Thanks again

there was a 15% off code around a few weeks back - still ££ but less iyswim.

Hi No1,

I've been several times to Sherwood Center Parcs and also Penrith.

CP can be expensive however, often discounts can be sourced, check out forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=211698. Also google CP discounts and it will take you to a whole host of websites.

Good luck (from someone who loves CP!)

Center parcs is fab, a real back to nature relaxing break. Butlins is a completely different thing ! Chalk and cheese really but I suppose it depends what you like ....
You could try FAMILY to give you some money off.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 27/05/2008 14:33

Hi yes thats what I am looking for something relaxing. Dont need lots of fuss to amuse dd. She just as happy going for a walk IYKWIM.

Did you decide what to do ? You could get a 3 bed comfort plus villa at Elvedon for £279 that week by using the code CPWEB, great price but a bit too far ?

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 28/05/2008 14:29

Hi yes thats a really good price but dh wont drive that far, says too far for couple of nights and we going away anyway end of june.
Will try him again
Thanks
