I was about to book a week in one of the comfort cottages. Either De Vossermeren or De Haan or Epperheide. But the reviews on tripadvisor and Google have really put me off... is the accommodation as bad as the reviews suggest?! If not, which park for primary school and high school children? Thanks

We went to De Haan. Recently. The accommodation was a bit shabby but perfectly acceptable. I wouldn't go there with older children though. My children are young primary age and loved the huge Softplay and pool but think it would be too small for highschool children.

Thanks for replying. I'll exclude De Haan!

De kempervennen is better for older children than Eperheide. I've been to all of them for long weekends and accommodation was fine. Lacking an oven as I recall. Also have a look at Landal.com and Roompot.com - oh and Duinrell. I know this is NL vs Belgium but not much further to go.

De Haan is a lovely town though and you have access to the huge sandy beach, can rent go-carts etc for the prom. And the coastal tram runs up and down. There's loads of stuff at the Belgian coast, so unless you want to stay on site all the time, it's not a bad option even for older kids. https://www.belgiancoast.co.uk/

Have a look at Landal - they have sites in Belgium. Not as big as center parcs but accommodation is lovely and they are often quite cheap

Moreindecision · 05/07/2025 08:32

Thanks, I'll look at Landal too

We’ve been to De Haan lots of times in the past 20 years with children from 2 up to 18. They all love it (but they haven’t been to Uk Center Parcs). A big bonus for teens is that a theme park with the amazing name of Plopsaland is only half an hour away and there are some excellent rides. We’re definitely going again!

We've been to De Vossemeren and Kempervannen. I'd say De Vossemeren is better than Kempervannen, unless your DC will be in ski lessons every day. The rapids are better, the watersports area is huge and the indoor play is absolutely amazing. It's set up like a treasure island and my DC happily spent whole days in there when they were primary school age. We've always stayed in Premium cottages and it's been fine. They revamped them over COVID too.

Thanks. It's great to get real life experience over tripadvisor reviews!
