Tuscany coast

Hello,

if you’ve read any posts by me before, you will have seen that I believe I have holiday anxiety. I’m trying to overcome this by going somewhere closer to home. We’re going to try Tuscany. From lots of reading in here, I see lots of lovely suggestions- Lucca, Siena, etc. I’m thinking of breaking it up to try the Tuscan coast. Possibly Elba island. Anyone been and have some recommendations?

I stayed on the mainland with a view of Elba at a beautiful hotel called Tombolo Tallaso. The hotel has a lovely beach, you tell the staff on the beach your room number and you are allocated an umbrella, 2 loungers, a chair and deck chair for the duration of the stay. The sea is shallow for ages and there are no rocks underfoot. There is a restaurant , bar and really nice toilet facilities near the hotel loungers.
The pool is lovely too with padded loungers and a bar.
There is also a spa in caves with different salt water pools plus a sauna etc.
We had breakfast and lunch there and ate on the terrace.
There is a kids club too.
