Like the title suggest, I’m thinking ahead to next July.
Child 1 will just have finished their GCSEs, child 2 will be 11and about to go up to secondary.
looking to take them away somewhere civilised in Europe the week before primary breaks up. (Will be the first time I have taken either of them out of school.)
Suggestions somewhere civilised, and pretty, not hen/stag central, but also not somewhere my 11 year old will die of boredom.
For reasons to outing to explain, we’ve had very few family holidays out of the UK so I would really like not to blow it. (And yes, also trawling trip advisor!)
really appreciate suggestions
thank you
x

I think it’s cruel to take your youngest out of primary before the official end of year. It’s such a lovely time for them to all be celebrating and enjoying their last few days together before leaving to go to secondary. They’d miss out on a rite of passage!

The south end of Lake Garda is good for families. There are two theme parks, a safari park/zoo and a waterpark. We also did kayaking, pedalos, biking, tubing and several boat trips.

What type of thing do your DC like to do?

Thanks for your response but I didn’t post this in AIBU or ask for opinions on this.
I am taking them out the last but one week not th final week.
Im very clear what activities happen when which is why this last but one week is the one I’ve chosen - they won’t miss anything.
They will also have the option to not come if they don’t want to - but I know they will want to.

They love being in the water, surfing, swimming, tennis.
Eldest will also like to flop and relax also.
