Anyone been to Montpellier/Nines/Arles by train? We have booked train travel and accommodation, looking for nice day trips on public transport. Local tourist website is hard to work out the local transport. Wednesday like to go to the beach one or two days, which is the best village and how to get there? Are the Velomagg hire bikes easy to use?

We’ve stayed in Nimes and went to Le Grau du Roi by train. It’s quite a scenic route. Le Grau du Roi has a nice beach and a decent aquarium. You could stop off en route at Aigues Mortes to see the pink salt marshes.

Looks like a long journey from Montpellier, via Nimes.
