Anyone got any recommendations for hotels on a beach which has rooms that will accommodate 5? Anywhere short-haul and sunny!

Yes - villas or mobile homes seem like best option but would really like to not have to cook - do enough of that at home

Have a look on medhotels for accomodation. As a quick example, you can get 7 nights 8th - 15th August here in a 2 bedroom apartment (Paphos, Cyprus) for £599 - there are loads of hotels on there, you just need to find cheap flights to the destination.

THIS is 3 bed and not far from Malaga so flights would be cheaper than Cyprus, It is £1300 for the first week of August though.

search here for family rooms in Zakynthos. If they are 4 beds they will often add an extra bed. This means it can be a bit squashed but is doable!

No, we only do villas

Gobbledigook · 24/05/2008 19:33

and eat out. I'm on holiday.

You can get the 3 bedroom Malaga duplex + flights from LGW (decent times) for just over £2000 for the 5 of you (2 adults + 3 children under 14) that's based on 12th Aug - 19th Aug.

Ok, so if I go with a villa, what about proximity to beach? It would be great to be within walking distance of a beach but so few villas seem to be. Also, if you stay in a villa you don't tend to have the children's facilities (and other children!) to absorb the kids....I guess I need a villa at a hotel resort?!

Try somewhere to stay . com for villas

There is a hotel in portugal called the paraiso albufeira they do a room that sleeps 5 on a self catering or all inclusive basis it is in the jmc book.

There is also the jupiter/saturno hotel in alcudia majorca that sleeps 5 it is in the cosmos book.

We had a villa in lanzarote a few years ago through sunhat villas we were 10 min walking distance to shops/bars/resturants and beach.

We are doing menorca in 4 weeks and our villa is 100m from the sea that is through somewhere to stay we booked villa and flights seperate its cheaper.
