Holidaying in the UK - Cotswolds w a toddler?

So we were thinking of going to Mallorca in September, we are a couple with a baby (1.5 yrs old) and my cousin was going to join us in Mallorca.

But after seeing some really expensive prices, she offered to come and join us in the UK (she is coming from Italy) for a UK holiday.

She asked me if I would like to go to any of the Luxury Family Hotels chain (we have only been to The Ickworth in Bury St Edmonds), so we could try another one of the same chain, or whether I would like to go to the Cotswolds

I have never been but seen some really pretty pics.

My friend stayed here at Christmas but I find it extremely expensive. Pretty though!

Also we would need to stay in two separate rooms as my cousin is a very light sleeper and we have a baby so possibly sharing a cottage might not be the best idea.

Any ideas for places in the Cotswolds with a toddler?
Or anywhere else that is a short drive away and is pretty? (we are in East London)

Many many thanks

The Cotswolds is very pretty, but there isn't much there to entertain a toddler I wouldn't have thought.
There are plenty of picturesque places you might stroll round for an hour then find a nice cafe. 'Day out' territory for me.

Looking at those prices I'd be surprised if you couldn't find something in Mallorca for September! It would be so nice - not the extreme July /August temperatures but the water will be lovely and warm!

I've stayed there. There's a heated outdoor pool and a large indoor pool but not much else to do. Lots of Lakes which might be tricky with a toddler. Great houses for a big family get together....bigger than they look in the photos. But definitely expensive.
