Price limit for week abroad for summer holiday

Prices are madness! What is the max you would pay for a week in Europe at an all-inclusive resort for a family of 3 in the school holidays? Just need sun, pool and beach.

You’ve left it late to book. So air fares are driving higher prices. Plan 11 months before you want to go.

For me, that would be £2-2250 max I think. So I'm looking now for next year, as that may JUST be achievable. I'm seeing lots of 'late abailability' offers coming up for the first week of the summer holidays on various Facebook groups.

I think AI is going to be at least £750-1k per person in peak season isn't it?

AI massively bumps up the cost. Compare AI with half board and think about whether you would spend that difference on drinks and snacks.
Might be worth it if you drink like a fish or have teenagers who eat double what an adult eats.
For my last holiday AI was £700 more than HB. We spent about £300 on drinks and lunches, two adults.

2.8k if there’s a walk to the beach.

3.2k for a hotel with it’s own beach.

Im paying £1800 including one excursion. It’s half board but that was my preference. I could’ve found AI for the same price elsewhere. I book in about February time.

That’s a very outdated way to book and not how the industry works anymore.

A quick search on any of the package holiday sites will show you cheaper prices for this summer than next.

OP I’m seeing lots of reasonable prices for AI this summer. Personally we prefer to eat out so don’t tend to book AI but if that’s what you want there are some good deals, what is your budget?

@CountryQueen It is if you use scheduled flights. They also don’t have accurate pricing for next year. You are gambling on prices. Late prices are usually the shit flying times and the worst rooms in the worst areas. Again a bit of a gamble. Planning usually gives better results and not the stitched together “packages” where they cannot sell the individual parts.

Potentially, if you have a specific destination or resort in mind but generally not the case anymore. The OP appears to be looking for a relatively cheap getaway. Therefore we are talking budget airlines and package holiday companies, she doesn’t need to book in advance anymore to get a decent deal.

And if the pricing isn’t accurate for next year then why would you book 11 months ahead?

I don’t like AI anyway - but if I factor that in I would say £3.5k

I'd try to keep it at no more the £1k pp
