Looking for lovely places to stay and the best beaches near Biarritz

We're travelling by train in August and looking for somewhere close to the beach, not too crazy busy, near nice smallish town and ideally also near a forest. I loved Saint Jean de Luz when I went years ago but wondering if it might be too busy in August. Any tips on the best beaches, towns and villages along that stretch of coast?

Hossegor is worth a look. It does get quite busy though. Really nice beach, warm lake for swimming, and forests nearby. Lots of shops, cafes etc. We had a lovely time there a few years ago. Everyone bikes everywhere, which was fun! It's about 30 mins drive from Biarritz.
