Orlando to New York...Unrealistic?

Going to Orlando for two weeks next year. Limited budget but would love to see New York. Looked on map and realised how far apart that are but just out of curiosity, is there a cheap way to spend a day in New York whilst staying in Orlando?

(Like if you were staying in Manchester you could get the train down to London for the day) or am I being totally unrealistic?

Can you travel back and stopover in NY? Is quite a distance - only reasonable way to do quickly is flying. Can't be of much help but think it's about a 2/3 hour flight.

Don't know exact distances, but distances from NYC to Orlando are probably roughly similar Rome to London. So, not practical for a day.

If you still want to try, suggest you look at stopover options as suggested by geezabreak.

Thanks for the replies, I looked again on a map and realised that there are whole states inbetween. I suppose I just havn't got my head around how big America actually is.

I think the best thing to do would be to enjoy the fortnight in Orlando and book a week in New York next time

I have done 4 days in NY and then flew down to Orlando - tis a 2.5 hour flight so bit much for day imo. Also, there is too much to see in NY to do it in one day.
