We have decided to drive from Manchester to France this August for around 12 nights. We looked at the ferry but the tunnel seems over half the price cheaper. We wondered if we should stay in chateau de Maris for a night or two and then travel south for the weather. Does anyone have any recommendations? Or is there any good sites worth the while week from
calais but not too far? Every time I google it brings me more choice and I’m so
lost! 😂 we’d like it to be as nice and luxury as poss and ideally near a beach 🙏

Check out Camping Le Paradis in the Dordogne. Drivable from the channel and plenty to do on site and in the region to keep you all busy for the week.

It’s nowhere near a beach but there are plenty of rivers

Domaine Les Ormes is drivable in a day from Calais if you have an early ferry crossing. Loads to do onsite including horse riding, high ropes and an indoor tropical swimming complex. Cancale, which has a lovely long sandy beach, is half an hour away and it’s fairly close to Mount St Michel.

Thank you both!! It’s a minefield - every time I googled more appear 😆

I am leaning towards a Sandya one or Yellah! Just not sure which and whether to do one for a week or one for 3 days or so and then move on to another 🥴🤷‍♀️
