Ibiza or Sri Lanka in September?

Random i know. And totally different. And I can’t decide although I’d ask the wisom
of MN

Have always wanted to go to both
Ibiza hotel booked (not paid) in a quieter part of the island but with a plan to go to a few clubs and see a few djs. Sorted

Then I went to Langkawi recently and realised I love the chilled beach/sunset/relaxed way of that holiday. And it got me wondering.

couple mid 40s normally do Greece/spain/italy. Like nice towels but chilled vibe of cocktails, wandering and doing a few bits.

factoring in hotel in Ibiza/ling haul flights/super clubs/cheap accommodation in Asia there doesn’t seem to be much in it price wise. Ibiza would be a week, SL 10 days. Would probably head to east of island in SLfor better weather

any thoughts before I roll a dice 🤣

Sri Lanka will be monsoon season still in the south and west in Sept.

Sorry, seen you’d said you’d head east. Which I guess would be fine if you just want a beach holiday but imho the better beaches (and other stuff) are in the south and central.

Could
Push Sri Lanka to Feb which seems more favourable

Yes most people would go Jan/feb/march.

A long way to go just for a beach, but Sri Lanka is amazing.

Not just beach, animals and cultural stuff too. See post “wandering and a few bits/“ tea plantation, elephant sanctuary, temples. Not just a beach

Sri Lanka is stunning, people are lovely, it’s a wild drive, but worth touring round IMO. Ibiza is totally different and not a patch on Sri Lanka. Food in SL is also amazing.

Do research the elephant sanctuaries. There’s a lot of chatter on social media about how they’re not real sanctuaries but are set up as a tourist attraction and mistreat the elephants. I think there’s one near Yala national park which is better thought of but the famous Pinwala (sp) orphanage isn’t meant to be very good I don’t think.
