Last minute summer holiday ideas

Hello,

We had booked to go away later on this year to the Caribbean. I’ve recently found out I am pregnant and following my dating scan this week, my due date is right in the middle of our holiday. Obviously we have had to cancel it and have received a full refund on the amount we had already paid (around £3k).
We’d now like to go away this summer holiday somewhere with the money but are undecided where to go and what to do. We are tied to school holidays due to work as a teacher and our 4 year is starting school this year.
We don’t want to go too far so have considered the UK and Northern Europe. I don’t know whether to do a week or 2 in the UK at a centerparcs type place (not actual CP as w wouldn’t get much for our money!) or to do a European euro camps/CP? Would love to do something in northern France so we could hop over to Disneyland for a visit? Or have seen Efteling in the Netherlands looks amazing. We’re happy to drive and happy to self-cater. Open to any ideas or suggestions?!
For context, we’ve recently come back from a weeks all inclusive in Greece, which we loved but would like a slightly different experience this time on a slightly cheaper budget.
Thank for any ideas!

You’ve mentioned a couple of theme parks there, and there are some fantastic parks in Europe, with great accommodation. We had a great time in Disneyland last month, but Parc Asterix in France also looks great. Efteling looks fab, and others like Phantasialand, Europa Park and Port Aventura are on our list to visit over next couple of years. I’d probably avoid the hotter countries in the summer holidays though for theme parks.
