Child to Adult Passport

Hi all

I'm sure this has been asked many times, but, my daughters old passport (child) was issued 2019, when she was 14, and expired 2024, when she was 19. So I googled child to adult passport and followed the HMPO link to apply. We added in her DOB, old passport number, issue and expiry date of that passport, and it said it was an adult renewal, but she's never had an adult passport before, so I'm worried I've done something wrong!. The photo we uploaded was classed as good so that bit is fine, but worried I've got the application wrong, or we're going to need to re-apply?. We go away in 7 weeks, I know I know!. Thank you

It’s fine, it is an adult renewal.

I know it’s confusing, I had the same worry and thought “first adult passport” applied but apparently that’s only for an adult who has never had a passport before.

If you’re going child to adult it is just a straighforward adult renewal

It's a renewal.......from child to adult? If it was issued when she was 5 they'd asked for additional verification.

Yes, it’s an adult renewal. My dd did this today, clicked first passport, read it and realised it was the wrong one.
