Amsterdam & Eftling

I'm trying to plan a trip to Amsterdam. Wondering if it would be possible to arrive in Amsterdam and get a train to Eftling - stay one night and go back to Amsterdam the next day? Would it be too rushed? We'd essentially be in Eftling from, roughly noon on the day we arrive until about 2pm the next day. We can afford one nights accommodation there which includes access into Park the day you arrive and the day you leave.

We have three kids - 10, 12 and 14. Can't decide whether we would be better off to just relax in Amsterdam or try to include Eftling too...any insights?

You can definitely combine the two. You will need a train/bus combo to get between the two. Would probably recommend doing 1 full day in Efteling rather than two shorter days if that can work.

Can you hire a car in Amsterdam for the day and just drive from there for the day and not stay at Efteling at all. How long do you want to be in Amsterdam for?

Efteling is absolutely massive. You probably wouldn’t see all of it but you’d still have a good time. We went recently and we were impressed. I did see recently on the Efteling fb page people saying there was a rail strike and people were stuck so might need to have a back up plan

Thanks for replies... We're hoping to go to Amsterdam for around five days. We loved Disneyland but thought two days was plenty there. We'd be very stuck if there was any sort of rail strike! Would be too nervous to drive in a different country I think.

ok having 3 days for Amsterdam and 2 for Efteling would be fine.

when are you looking to go?. If it’s in a date when it’s open to 10 then you will have loads more time on day 1 versus a day it closes at 6.
