Driving from Caen to Montpellier S.E France with 3 Young kids...any one know any good routes and overnight stops?

We're planning 2 nights stop-over en-route, so would quite like a 'pretty' route. Accomodation like Ibis or the like is preferable.

via michelin allows you to pick various routes, including a scenic route

if you click the hotels button it will also show you all the ibis, mercure, les loges etc on the route.

For places to stay try the drive-alive website, or Logis de France. We found that the chains, such as Ibis, often don't have 4-bed rooms, but the little independently owned places often do, and they're much nicer.

Logis de France are great - the ones I've stayed in have had really good food and are much cheaper than UK hotels. If you look here you will find details of child friendly hotels.
