Does anyone know if it's open this bank holiday monday? Nobody ever seems to answer the phone, and have even tried emailing them.
I know they have a little teaching pool (perfect for babies) and it's DD's first birthday on monday!

Hi Feelingevil, I'd decided that it's about time I took DS (8 months & very, very active) swimming & have also been trying to get info on opening over the long weekend.

Swiss Cottage is my nearest pool & I finally got through to the reception desk today: the centre is definitely open between 8am-6pm & apparently the teaching pool is perfect for babies but the young woman I spoke to (Charlotte) said they aren't sure yet exactly when it'll be available for us to use because of the Bank Holiday.

I definitely want to go so maybe we could link up & do it together? I have another friend who lives quite close by too with a lovely little 15 month old girl so if she's around on Monday I could get her to bring baby along too!

Anyway Charlotte advised me to call back over the weekend to firm up times, so as soon as I find out I'll let you know: watch this space!

I have found the teaching pool very cold when i've gone with my DD so when you call ask them the temperature...

Thanks for that, good point, don't want DS getting a chill & I don't fancy freezing my poor overused nipples off either!

Hello Mama. They actually got back to me today and the teaching pool is open from 11am to 3pm.
We're probably going to get there for 11am (can't imagine staying for longer than half an hour, especially as pool is as cold as Scarlet says). So, if you're around then, come and say hello. I'll be with DH and my DD will just be wearing red/orangey swimming nappy.

We haven't taken her swimming before, so any tips most welcome.
