Yoga mat as hand luggage

Hi all,

I wonder if anyone has managed to take their yoga mat with their hand luggage on British Airways?

We fly with them often both EU and USA and have never had an issue. I imagine it will be fine, BUT if anyone has tried it, I'd love to know!

I will only have a small rucksack otherwise as we don't take much on holiday.

I’ve seen them being checked with the odd/large baggage sometimes but not as hand luggage. I’d imagine they’d be too long? But I’ve never tried.

Travelled to a yoga retreat with hand luggage only, and I took a travel yoga mat: it folds up to take up little space.

Not BA, it was easyJet or Ryanair, and the travel mat fitted in small cabin case.
