We'd like to take the DC skiing next winter for the first time. One adult and two DCs (12 and 8) would be learning to ski. (Adult already snowboards.) One adult and one DC (3) would not be skiing so would need other things to do. (Adult has slightly limited mobility.) Any ideas where would be good?

What’s your budget and when are you thinking of going?

Suggest you ask to move this thread to the Ski & Snowboarding topics as you’ll likely get more advice there. Depends very much when you plan to go and what budget you have in mind.

Would you consider driving or hiring a car?

Serfaus is great for kids. We stayed in the family hotel there. Not cheap, but fabulous holiday and the kids loved it and we were so well looked after, made for very stress-free and enjoyable and successful holiday.

Budget and when?

We go every year with a mixed ability group of skiers, boarders and relaxers ranging from toddler to late 70s and we have found Val d’Isere the best for keeping everyone happy. But it is spendy! Smaller resorts can be good if you’re on a budget but at lower altitude the snow conditions can be iffy which is not ideal if you’re learning, there may not be a lot for your experienced snowboarder and IDK about yours but my non skiers want a spa, really nice restaurants etc. to make up for the fact that a lot of their holiday is waiting for the skiers to return! So a big, high, snowsure resort with fancy restaurants suits us best.

Also, you may have already considered but just in case you’re not aware- the 3YO can mostly ski if they want to. It’s typically a snow kindergarten type thing where they mix up skiing with indoor games and hot chocolate breaks. Mine loved it at that age!
