Paris logistics help please

It’s me, DH and 2 DC (13 and 10). We’ve been to Paris before but stayed near Opera and mooched at the sights. But for this trip I can’t work out where to base ourselves based on the agenda below…Any suggestions? Plus what is the best way to get from Beauvais to the city? Thanks in advance!

Wednesday: Arrive at Beauvais Airport 18:30
Thursday: Free day
Friday: Event at the Longchamp Racecourse (best metro is Porte d’Auteuil)
Saturday: Need to be at gare de Lyon at about 11am

From Beauvais, just take the (lengthy) shuttle bus thst drops you, I think usually at Porte Maillot, but DH took it a couple of weeks back and it’s temporarily dropping at St Denis — there you can get the metro anywhere.

Thanks! Just seen about the shuttle. I see it goes to La Defense, wondering if staying in/near La Defense would work. I mean I know it’s the business district, is it totally random to stay there mid week with kids?
