Istanbul travel from airport

Looking for advise on the best way to get from Istanbul airport to Sultanhamet?

I’ve looked online and found lots of warnings about getting scammed when buying a travel card or using a taxi but can’t find much about the best way to travel. It looks like there are various options for getting a train with changes but I’m not sure which route would be best for the easiest change? Or any suggestions for a taxi service to use?

We booked a private transfer through the hotel we were staying in. See if your hotel offer this or look online.

We always use holidayextras.com for overseas airport transfers, having been ripped off in the past (including Istanbul).
Pay in advance by CC, (but drivers like a tip). Very reliable, & a contact no. for any problems.

Use the official bus service called Havatas, you can buy ticket aboard the bus and if is a safe rude into town.

when you exit departures, find the Havatas desk or just find the busses (they are often parked right outside departures)

You have to ask if they take that route you want to asultanahment, if not what is the closest bus stop they can stop at.

Once you are in the city, you can hail a taxi, most of them are decent taxi drivers that work on a taxi meter.

Thanks that sounds a good idea I’ll contact the hotel.

The flight back is quite late though so any info on the best public transport routes would be good if anyone’s familiar with it.
