Holidays with plentiful toilets?

Can you suggest somewhere warm (not hot) for a holiday in October or November and that has plenty of public toilets?

I haven't been abroad for many years so have no idea.
The UK is very poor in toilet provision these days and don't want the same thing on holiday.

I go Larache in Morocco and they have loads of cafes with English style toilets everywhere.

Slightly off topic but those Japanese toilets are very different. I pressed the wrong button and got a warm shower. Lovely but unexpected. I remember squeaking in shock!

We go to northern Tenerife a lot. There aren’t many public toilets, but I have bladder issues so I tend to plan or map out any places I’ll be going.

If we’re on a day out I’ll generally know that there’s a toilet every 20 mins and I’ll have loads of euro notes and coins so I can go in and at least order a coke or coffee when I need in any cafe, so I can use the toilets. It’s always been absolutely fine. Buying something cheap means I’m a customer so nowhere ever complains. I often don’t even drink the coke or coffee, I’m just making a purchase so that I’m a customer.

DM me if you want to know the area or specific places. I even know all toilets local to the beach and front, and the best hotel for lots of dotted about toilets in the hotel.

Jersey and Guernsey are very good for public loos.

Japan has the best public toilet provision of anywhere I’ve ever been. There really are public toilets everywhere and they are generally very clean and well designed.

It’s warm in October.

No idea if you’re looking at long-haul though.

I was literally going to respond with Japan, it's just amazing! Clean and plentiful and always free.

FastandLoose · 03/06/2025 21:14

as others have said, Japan is absolutely THE holiday toilet destination :)

Probably not what you're looking for, but Tokyo is very well supplied with public loos

I was going to suggest the major Japanese cities too! Nice public toilets with bidets and noise buttons!

On a holiday in France about 10 years ago we ended up taking our own toilet roll and soap (we were camping so set up for that anyway) as majority of toilets we encountered had neither!

To be fair, France have really upped the state of their public toilets since Covid.

Not even just the major cities. Obviously the very deepest countryside on hikes away from trains stations may be different, but we’ve found good public toilet provision everywhere we’ve been in Japan. In my experience, if there’s a train station, there’s toilets and vending machines, even if it’s a tiny town. We’ve ended up at some fairly rural stations like Kidonanzoin-mae and still found plenty of options for toilet breaks and drinks.

I've only been to Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Hiroshima so I didn't know it extended to the smaller towns too, but it doesn't surprise me.

Get the "Flush" app. It shows where toilets are in your vicinity.

Omg l need this app!!!!
Op l hate going anywhere without toilets - it stresses me out and ruins my day!
Loads in Las Vegas!

Las Vegas has them everywhere.

Yes Las Vegas is the best place I've ever encountered for toilets.
Any hotel seems pleased to have people wandering though as they normally funnel you past a casino. But even the shopping centres there are good for toilets.

caringcarer · 03/06/2025 22:58

In France there are almost always publicity toilets close to a church.

HairAreYourAerials · 03/06/2025 23:01

Not what you asked, but India is the only place I've been where the queue for the men's was longer than the ladies. It was worth it just to roll my eyes at dh when he finally emerged and ask him exactly what is it that men do in there that takes them so long?

NuffSaidSam · 03/06/2025 23:04

Austria is fantastic for toilets. They're everywhere and clean enough to eat you dinner in there.

It's won't be hot in October though.

ranoutofquinoaandprosecco · 04/06/2025 04:18

Another one for Japan! Toilets everywhere, super clean and free!
