Hello

we are in a very strange situation. Have never been abroad for twenty years. Due to weather, Tennant farmer husband and drought. We applied for passports, they arrived the Monday, we booked a week AI and left the Friday. Despite fears, anxiety and stress it was THE BEST.

I’ve looked for same week next year, it is double the price. However, two weeks is working out even less per week than we paid for a week.

now we have the bug we won’t always go to the same place, but with four little ones this ticks the boxes.

so, do I hang out for the week dropping? Or do I book the two weeks and if DH needs to come back we worry about that then?

im happy with kids myself, just worry about him being needed here.

or am I in post holiday blues and should just forget it till next year!

Generally the longer in advance you book the cheaper the holiday. Are you stuck with school holidays? Have you tried a different airport, someone find it cheaper but I never had.

Where did you go? I love holidays.

It was a lovely resort in Mallorca. I think 🤔 we got such a good deal because we booked so late. But the two weeks being cheaper has thrown me.

Two weeks is usually cheaper per week than one because it’s the flights which are expensive bit.

Try changing flight dates. If you can fly mid week it’s cheaper than on a weekend.

If you've found something you like at a good price you could book it now or you could wait. We usually have a few days away in June and often book only a few days to a month ahead and always find something for a decent price.

As long as you think a fortnight won't be too long, go for it. Unless you're flying from a very small UK airport, there's usually at least one flight a day, often more from Mallorca, so it will be easy enough for your DH to come home if needed.

With children I’d always say book early because of the free child places look on tui easyjet etc. booking late you may find it harder to get them.
two weeks is always cheaper than 1 due to flights as someone else said.
booking late chance is alot of places won’t have the room/ rooms you need with children
booking earlier gives you time to plan and budget.
i always go A/I have done over 25 years it gives you less stress and you know where the next meal drink and ice cream is coming from but it doesn’t stop you going out all day after breakfast and eating the odd meal out.
book it I’d say, it gives you all a boost and something to look forward to, although we all get the holiday blues once back, back to the daily grind.

To be safe I would also check how many children you can travel with as a single adult with incase your husband needs to come home early. I think the restrictions are normally for under 2s so hopefully won’t be a problem.

as there are 6 of you I’d book early as 2 -3 bed apartments would sell out quicker.
