Booster seat help- sudden panic!

Please bear with me if I’m being stupid- I’m going to France with DH, DD and DGS for the first time and I’m trying to be as organised as possible to increase the chance of a good holiday to various ND’s we all have, which has resulted in me getting myself thoroughly in a tizz… 😒

Can anyone clarify if I’m going to need a booster seat? I know that children need to be in a car seat of some kind until they hit 150cm, and have hired a suitable one for DGS as we’re renting a car, but I’ve also seen some sites which seem to imply that anyone under 150cm needs a booster. I’m 149cm- do I really need one? And if so, where on earth would I get one, given there’s absolutely no chance my arse will fit into a standard kids one.

Help! I can’t see the woods for the trees anymore! I really, really don’t want to get to the hire place and not be allowed to get the car as I’m the only driver and we have a 2 hour drive to get to the place we’re staying after landing at the airport. And please don’t take the piss as my ND means despite holding down a professional job I honestly can’t get my head around this, and I’m terrified i might be breaking the law in a foreign country!

An adult does not need a booster. Your skeleton is much stronger than a child of the same height. Have a lovely holiday!

So because I obviously look like a knackered old hag adult I won’t be challenged on it if I’m stopped for anything or if the police think they should check as depending on the exact car it sometimes looks like I can barely see over the steering wheel? Don’t laugh, but that has actually happened in the UK…

So sorry to ask so many stupid questions; as you can probably tell this holiday means so much to us after a truly dreadful few years!

No you won't be challenged. The only requirement would be that you are wearing a seatbelt!

Phew! Thank you!
